Congratulations to Meadows of Dan Elementary-Get Active Get Fit School Challenge Winner

Whitney R. Wilson, Promotions Manager at Radio Disney, in Richmond, Virginia has announced that Meadows of Dan Elementary School has been selected as one of the 2011 Get Active Get Fit School Challenge winners. Wilson, Production manager states “With all your hard work and extra activity you did we are proud to say that you were in the top 20 in participation that earned you a Radio Disney Dance Party at your school. Get ready to dance!!! We are looking forward to visiting you all on February 29, 2012 and we would like to say congratulations again, and remember to stay active and stay fit. “The school will also receive $500.00 worth of gym equipment for being a winner.

School officials wish to send congratulations to all students and staff for participation and hard work. The Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Radio Disney who partnered to bring the Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge to schools throughout Virginia. MODE completed the challenge by beginning on October 3, 2011 in making sure all students were “getting active and getting fit" for at least 20 minutes every day for a minimum of 40 of the 55 days (October 3 – November 26, 2011). "Getting active and getting fit" means doing anything that's active - whether at home or at school - like playing soccer, dancing, walking the dog, jumping rope... the possibilities for fun activities are endless! MODE hopes that all students, staff and parents will continue to participate daily in “active and fit” activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
